At last I've found time to upload some photos. These are of my 4 days in Darwin where I met up with my cousin Anne (see www.offexploring.com/campionscapers)
As expected, Darwin was hot (37 deg C) and humid. I was staying with my cousin Anne & husband Gordon on their yacht, so no AC. One day I had a snooze below deck to recover from my various travels, and after 30 mins the pillow was soaking wet!
Quite a frontier feeling about Darwin - the national newspaper "The Australian" costs an extra $1.20 here to cover air freight. Unlike other parts of Australia, it is still permitted to smoke in some bars. Talking of bars, the barman who served me my first drink in the 'Wisdom Bar' was from Glasgow. We Scots get everywhere!
Very enjoyable visit, despite the heat. See the photo album for the 'jumping crocodile' tour we took on the Sunday 8 Nov.
