On February the Sea Olympics were held on the ship. Our team name is the Sea Salts. The photo above is our syncranized swimmers. They were such good sports. The one on the left is 86. Gary and I participated in the Relay of dress in a crew uniform and run to a destination, run back, get out of uniform and pass to the next of six team members. There was also our wonderful tug of war team, wheelbarrow, basketball, volleyball, card towers, hula hoop etc. It was a fun time had by all and we did win the best song and cheer event. The kids were great with us and appreciated that we wanted to participate. The kids, however, were very competitive and cheered until they were hoarse the next day. This event really did help jell the community together.
We had the captan spoke to our group the other day. He is very personable. He also told us that the MV Explorer is one of the fastest ships on the ocean. It is also one of the cleanest. It was built in 2002 in Germany. Gary and I also attended the Captan's Dinner the other night. It was very elegant and there were about 30 people there. He will have dinners for all the LLL's, Profs/Family and Staff.
We are not with Kwame and Sister Helene in Ghana and will send another blog after we leave.
Hope all are well. We miss you.
