Hi everyone.
On Friday, I went swimming with Seals (yes, real big seals) it was so fantastic!! It was a snorkeling day where we would look art some reffs in the bay and then go swimming with Seals and Dolphions. Unfortuntately, we couldnt find any Dolphins but it was still fantastic. When we arrived at the location where the seals 'hang out' only a few were actually in the water. I was worried that the seal swimming experience wouldnt be as fun as I first thought, but then one of our instructors jumped into the water. The seals apparently knew him so all jumped off their ledges and into the water. We were then told not to touch them because they might think you are trying to feed them so bite you. To be honest, I didnt really want to touch them- they are big and have mean looking teeth- I was happy to just swim around with them!! I had an underwater camera so hopefully the pictures will come out well!!
I went on the trip with Kirsty (Patsy's daughter) and her boyfriend Chris. It was very good, because for once I was actually in pictures!!
When looking for the Dolphins, we tried our hand at fishing without fishing rods or bate! We just had a line at the back of the boat which we tugged a few times to entice the fish. Surprisingly we caught 12 in 1/2 hour. I think they were Australian Trout but it could have been Samon.(How do you spell it?)
The instructor then filleted them for us and bagged them up and recommended we cook them in honey- which we did! Tasted really great. Not really a fan of fish but it tastes so much better when you have caught them yourself.
Then we had the option of lowering yourself into the water from the back of the boat (while the boat moves along at high speed)- and try and hang on!! It was great fun and am waiting for the pictures to be developed!!
Such a fantastic day!!
