So........
After the last entry i wrote i met up with Jem, who is the best friend of Zoe who i was good friends with in new zealand. Was cool meeting up with her for a bit. Then went onto Magnetic island and did a koala walk in the immense heat, i had to jump into the swimming pool when i got back to the hostel to dry off!
I had one of the best days ever on november 15th! started off by waking up early and seeing the sunrise with two emmas then went onto a crocodile farm and saw some croc feeding and then got bitten by a snake!........yes bitten by a snake! They asked if anyone wanted to volunteer to get bitten so i was like "hell yeah!" It was a jungle python so wasn't venomous, it bit me the first time and i took my hand out, there was no blood! i wanted proof of getting bitten so i put my hand in again, got bitten again but again no blood! 3rd time lucky and got bitten again, this time i realised that the first 2 bites did get me it just took a while for the blood to come out, i ended up with 18 teeth marks on my hand! hardcore!!
I then held a crocodile and another snake and ate some crocodile too! All this was still in the morning! in the afternoon was more hardcore activities...... i jumped off a ledge with some elastic bands attatched to my ankles, yeah that's right.......bungy!
The lad infront of me couldn't go through with it and ended up panicing infront of me, it didn't help with the nerves! i just told the guys that worked there to count down from 3 and i'll jump. next thing i know i'm flying through the air! what a head rush!!
Went out that night and everyone got really drunk....... good times!!
We visited the waterfall that peter andre did his mysterious girl video, i didn't get my six pack out and copy the video though!
From cairns to alice springs it took 3 days to get there across the desert, i'm a traveller so couldnt afford to fly it! the first day the tyre blew up! the whole tyre had been ripped apart and only left a little bit of mangled metal left!
When got to alice springs i had a day of rest then went to Uluru (Ayers Rock) the group i was with was pretty rubbish, there was an old norweigan couple, a young english couple that kept to themselves and a german bloke who didn't talk much. luckily there was an american girl called claire so we ended up hanging out and annoying the others!
On the way to ayers rock we went to kings canyon and walked in 42 degree heat! we made it to ayers rock for sunset which was cool seeing the rock change colour. the sunrise was well worth the 4am wake up time the next day, beautiful site!
i wasn't going to walk up the rock as the aboriginal people don't like it, but then i was talking to a couple of aussies who've got some aboriginal friends and they say the aboriginal people don't actually care anymore, alot of them walk up it themselves and would recommend it..... so i walked up it! it was quite an experience and really hard to climb but well worth it!
From alice springs to darwin we went to the devils marbles and had an amazing time canoeing at katherine gorge! it's been one of the highlights of my trip so far. It was so quiet and tranquil and had immense views of the gorge while swimming in the warm crocodile infested waters!! yeah there were crocs in there but they were fresh water crocs who apparently don't attack humans unless defending themselves, no one got attacked so all was good!!
Went on a 2 day Kakadu National park tour when got to darwin, it was ace, our tour leader is the next steve irwin!! When driving along the road he'd slam on the breaks of the bus and suddenly jump out and run into the bushes, he'd then come back holding a snake or lizard! he did it a few times, quality!!
We went on a bush walk and i licked an ants arse! i can't remember the name of th ant but it's got a big green bum and when you lick it, the ant squirts acid at you that tastes like lime! yum!!
At night time Luke our tour guide took us on an illegal wildlife walk! we had to tell the rangers we were looking for someones camera becuase we weren't allowed to be there!! First thing luke does is walks into a river with a sign saying "salt water crocodiles inhabit this area"! he walked in up to his knees and suddenly dives in and comes back holding a snake in his hands!! it was so cool, we also saw some spiders and other creatures, unfortunatly no crocs though..... well lucky for luke anyway!!
We went to Jim Jim falls (so good they named it twice!) and swam in the warm natural pools, we saw more snakes and some toads swimming around, decided to keep our distance though!
Well that's enough of boring you all, i couldn't think of anything funny to write so i doubt anyone has read this far! I've some how had over 17,000 hits on the website so some people must be looking anyway!
Have a look at the pics though....!
