Barrington tops was in the middle of nowhere so didn't really do much, went kayaking for a bit but that was about it. Surf camp was call, learnt how to surf and catch some waves, i managed to stand up a few times but in general i was pretty rubbish!
Stayed at the best hostel ever in Byron Bay, it's called the Arts Factory and i stayed in a Teepee which was so cool, the hostel was basically a little hippy village, it was so chilled out! The hostel had so many things going on, there was fire shows and lots of live music.
Went to Ninbim for the day which is like a proper hippy town, it's full of cool and weird shops and some strange people! had a really good time there with some of the locals! Got back and met up with Tom, Helen and Mel, i swear i've got about 8 different stalkers as i keep on bumping into people!
We went out and got really drunk, i pulled off the best dance move ever, i stared up vertical, the next thing i know i'm lying horizontally on the floor, no one could tell if it was on purpose or not! i'll claim it as a move even though i actually just slipped and fell flat!!
Brisbane was probably the most boring city in the world, nothing goes on there, i was there for 3 nights and so was bored, went to the XXXX Castlemaine brewery and the sunday markets but apart from that there was nothing to do!
Luckily i met up with Rosie again so we had a night out which saved me from boredom!
Next up Steve Irwin's Zoo!! it was mega!! as you all know i loved this bloke he was such a legend and i dedicated my sky dive to him. the free bus was booked up so had to make the way there by catching buses and trains, finally got there though! i got quite a few pics of me and steve's posters! also cuddled a koala, little lenno was so cool until he decided to loosen his load on me! luckily just missed as he was being taken off!
The croc show was amazing, just a shame steve couldn't be there himself to do it!
After the zoo got back and met up with mike again, been cool meeting up with people again that i've met in new zealand, it's brought back good memories!
I played a didgeridoo, was also supposed to be taught how to throw a spear and boomarang but the rubbish bus driver didn't bring them, oz experiece is a pretty rubbish company, don't go with them! kiwi and feejee experience were good though!
Had 3 quality days on Fraser island which is the biggest sand island in the world, we had such a good time driving on the sand and getting stuck, it's all part of the fun trying to push the van out! the beaches and lakes were amazing too, and went to a place called indian heads where you can see sharks, turtles, sting rays, dolphins. I also saw my first snake in the wild, it's apparently a death adder! ack!
We played quite a few drinking games at night that Rob the irish lad taught us and went down to the beach at night We got asked to keep the noise and language down a few times too!
After Fraser went to Kroombit cattle station where i did some clay pigeon shooting, which i won out of everyone, woo! most people went horse riding but me and few others stayed behind and didn't go. Also did some goat milking and had a go on the mechanical bull
Whitsundays islands was ace, i was mainly hanging out with 2 americans, mike and amanda, and english lad rich, a belgium guy bram, girl from oz bus tyne and a girl from swindon! first person i've met from swindon since being away, her name is anna fearon, anyone know her!?
We all got on really well and had a great laugh, the boat was cool and also helped out with a bit of the sailing which was good fun! The boat we were on is the fastest boat at the whitsundays called the avatar.
The first place we went to was called Whitehaven beach and has been voted as the best beach in the world and you can easily see why, it was stunning with crystal clear waters and pristine white sand.
Did loads of snorkelling but i've still not yet found nemo, i'll hopefully find him before i get home! I did however swim with a turtle when snorkelling and stroked his shell as we were swimming, i bought a waterproof camera so hopefully the pics will come out when i get them developed!
All 3 days were quality
We had a big night out when we got back but only the usual suspects showed up, which was good as we all knew each other really well!
I went to the airlie beach festival with helen mel and amie last night who i randomly bumped into again when walking through the streets, i swear they're stalking me!
leaving for magnetic island tomorow, then mission beach and onto cairns......... i'll keep you all updated!
