Spent our last morning in Hoi-An just relaxing, went to try and find the famous well that the water for Cao Lac is taken from - walked around some funny back streets but couldn't find anything!
Got our cab at 12 -we had a very crazy driver who got us to Danang over an hour early! Sat waiting for ages for the train. Watched the same episode of Tom and Jerry over and over again as that was the only thing on in the waiting area - well that and Abba Dancing Queen along with an ad for a Jackie Chan movie.
Finally the train arrived, over half an hour late. Got on at our carriage and prayed that it would be better than the last time we were on the train. It wasn't. The carriage was filled with Vietnamese people all who looked like they had been eating for most of the night, so the carriage was filled with the lovely aroma of food and sweat - great. The floors were covered in crumbs and various other bits of food. All I thought was - its onlly two hours, I can deal with this for two hours! We got to our seats and found that they were a little tight to get our bags into. Also, the overhead rack was quite small, so there was no way I was able to get my bag up there. In the end I sat with my big ruck sack on my chair, Manisha's bag was on the floor by our legs along with my little ruck sack. It certainly wasn't the most comfortable journey. As the train left the station, both myself and Manisha were looking forward to the great views that we had heard all about. However, it seemed everyone else in the carriage had different ideas. They all decided to close the curtains as it was very sunny and being Asian, they don't really like the sun! What we were able to see of the views were spectaular. I would reccommend it to anyone, just make sure you get a seat on the left side of the train!
Once we got to Hue, we walked to our hotel as it wasn't far from the station. Again, Manisha had chosen a beautiful hotel for us! Checked in and did some exploring around the hotel. Decided to eat at the hotel - which was very nice, had some really great food there. Then chilled out for the rest of the evening!
