After being woken up incredibly early - 5.30am early and failing to go back to sleep, myself and Manisha tried to waste some time playing card games (and after beating Manisha a few times) we tried reading our books. None of it worked but eventually we got to Da Nang. Even after our lovely experience on the train, we decided to take the normal train to Hue - it was only two hours, how bad could it be? Whilst booking our tickets, we met some other travelers who were heading to Hoi An and we got a mini van with them there - it was only 40,000Dong each, which wasn't bad at all.
We checked into the hotel, and finally managed to freshen up! Was totally disgusted by the amount of dirty that came off us! Had a bit of a wander around the town, was very pretty and quite quiet in comparison to HCMC. Manisha saw a few bits and pieces that she liked but decided to wait until we had a proper look around to decided to buy anything.
We were pretty hungry by the time we had finished our mini tour of Hoi An old town, so went to find a place to eat. Went to a place reccommended by the lonely planet - firstly, it was not marked in the right place on the map and second - it was called something different. We thought, what the hell, just go for it. Ordered the speciality of Hoi An - white rose and some crab and noodles. The food, I have to say, wasn't great. The white rose was greasy, the noodles had way too much pepper, and the crab...well, the good thing was that it was fresh. It took about half an hour after we had finished the first two things for the crab to come. In fact, I think I saw a man arrive with the crab in a bag! It really wasn't great crab, was very dissapointed in the food that night.
