I'm a Cayman island criminal! Like really! I had the most interesting experience at Grand Cayman airport.....never to be repeated. I did not have proof with me that I was leaving the USA! I know that sounds odd, but as I was just popping to Grand Cayman for 5days after over 2months I forgot it was internationl (although only 1hr 5min on plane from Miami) I felt offended! I'm now at one with USA....they let me in before! BUT American Airlines would not board me in Grand Cayman unles sI had proof I was leaving the states. I was like...hmmmm hello? what?! I'm from England! I'm not a criminal...I was in your stupid country the last few months spending the little money I have. Bast*rds! I'm being honest I almost cried! The dude on check in said go upstairs use the wireless internet and show me on my laptop that I'm leaving USA (if I ever get there!). Went upstairs....wouldn't work!!! f*ck! Went downstairs again to another person on check in. I felt stranded (although to be fair stranded on a carribean island was ok with me!). I felt like a criminal.
(The fact I forgot my penknife was in my rucksack and got it taken off me and fully searched when they eventually let me through security obviosuly did not help my cause!)
Eventually after 20min insisting I was on a American Airline flight back home on 24th Nov the kind lady got her supervior and let me go behind the counter (as in over the baggage weigh machines
(done gracefully with my ass in the air when I stumbled over the huge thing). I went down some corridors thinking 'dear god! They won't let me leave'!! I got on the internet in their back office, got my retun flight details then everything was fine! I was on a Lufansa flight back on the 24th nov, so thats probably why they couldn't find me on their system! doh!! That was a horrible experience I felt like I'd done something wrong like murder...
Oh well...next time, note to self - print all return documentation. I used to have it but as I got here mid-August I must've thrown it and just popping to the Cayman islands I didn't think I needed it! doh!
Well before this 'convict' experience this morning was THE best - I went swimming with dolphins! 5 in fact. One was a baby. sooooooo cute! I shoock hands, I gotthem to wave, they push me along the water with their noses on the bottom of my feet... I held onto their fins .....I fed them....It was just incredible. I cannot explain how wonderful, how cute and how awesome dolphins are. So peaceful. I swam with them and cuddled them and yeah! At first I was really nervious as I'm not the best swimmer! Very strange also that I was the only person doing it, there are usually about 10 people per swim! Had a team of like 10people to look after me!! A photographer, a video filmer, life guards and dolphin trainers!! I deffo needed a shower afterwards as I smelt of fish! I knew that as the taxi dude taking me back to my hotel put his window down....phew!
Yesterday I visited my X1071 posse at DMS broadcasting. It was odd being in radio studios again and I couldn't wait to leave! No offence to the guys there... I just felt 'outdoors' is my place now - not in a boring box. Great bunch! Phil and Nasby took me to lunch as well at a sexy restuarnt in George Town. Nasby is the PD and Phil did some presenting.... Pretty funny when meeting some of the people when they realised I was 'THE VOICE'! Some were like wow! oohhh yeah hello! I do pretty horny reads, so I guess some of them have been getting excited to my voice?! I dunno!! Anyways when 5pm came around Nasby, Phil and I escpaed to karioke and free drinks into the night in the local bar with all the station. Nasby (PD of x1071) did a mean 'Vanilla Ice' ;o) haha
On Wednesday I went off on a boat trip to swim with stingrays at Stingray City. The Cayman islands are all about 'Turtles, stingrays, dolphins, beaches and cocktails'. I did well! The stingrays were pretty freaky. There is a thing called 'personal space', which they did not understand. The females were the friendly ones and the bigger ones. I was basically molested by a bunch of females.... I'm not a lesbian. I felt abused. I think I stayed in the water with them for 10minutes kinda screaming like a big baby and holding onto the anchor chain. The waves were quite high . so it was hard to sand up in the shallow 4ft water. Plus you don't want to stand on them coz thats when they'll sting. Apart from that they are really friendly and rape you. All up your legs with their big wings..
I was not a fan. But hey...it was an experience!
Tuesday I beached it - beautiful blue clear water, white sands = amazing! I remember smiling and listening to 'Pitbull - Hotel' on my ipod ;o) I also had a pedicure and haircut! I needed sorting out after over 2months camping in the states!
Oh! on the drunked karioke evening the boys Nasby and Phil thought it would be awesome to go to Key West for the long weekend kicking off. Friday to Monday. Drunkenly they booked flights (the wrong way from miami to grand cayman), made drunken calls to cancel them and I found out Friday morning that they sorted it! So I'm off back to Key West for a week today (now they've let me on the plane!) and think the boys will be joining me at some point! Maybe I'll see 'boat boy too'.......Duval street - make way! I'm back! ;o)
