Here is my first entry, just a brief one to start with as I'm just getting over the jetlag, or should I say hangover :-). When I left Heathrow Airport I was given a free upgrade to Premium Economy, which made me chuffed as I am not the best of flyers but was loving the space and comfy seat on the plane. Anyway eleven and a half hours later I arrived in Bangkok and was met by Ella the tour leader for the week. We got to our hostel which is just off the Khao San Road and had a good walk round the area and then on for a meal. So at the moment there are 5 of us in the group and James the other tour leader took us and some other friends from a previous group to go Bowling. I hadn't stopped sweating since I arrived so it was nice to go into an air conditioned building and cool off (even at half 10 at night it was so hot) bowling was fun though you could tell it had been a while since I had bowled. It was good to get to know everyone and afterwards we went for a few drinks or should that be buckets. (I shall post some pictures soon so you know what I mean). And at half 4 in the morning we rolled into bed.
On Saturday we woke up early and got a taxi to the Chatuchak Markets, it is the biggest market in Thailand I believe and has thousands of stalls. There were stalls selling everything from squid egg smoothies to little puppies and bunny rabbits in tutu's. We had an interesting walk around this but to see it all would take forever. Looking forward to Monday now when we get to start our activities.
