Day 36: Emma Gorge, El Questro Wilderness Park
Craig gets his X-ray and is given the all clear...put your foot up and rest it. Not going to happen!
We head off to Emma Gorge, which is part of El Questro Wilderness Park, on the Gibb River Rd. It's bitumen all the way to the gorge, so it's an easy run.
And well worth the trip. A 1.6km walk up the creek and we are rewarded with a beautiful waterhole at the base of a droplet waterfall...gorgeous! We spend a good couple of hours here, swimming and just relaxing.
There is a thermal spring and Craig and Darcy enjoy the warm water after the cool waterhole. Such a beautiful place.
We could of stayed at the resort here, but we weren't prepared to pay $298 per night twin share, for a safari tent/cabin...we're on our own safari!
We leave Emma Gorge and do a reccy to The Station at El Questro. We get to do a couple more river crossings...easy as...and check out the camping at Black Cockatoo camping ground.
We bump into a couple we met at Derby and have a chat. And we decide that we will do El Questro as a day trip later in the week.
Back at Kununurra we have pizza at the local pizzeria and it goes down a treat.
Gotta love Kununurra...
