Our Trip to the Kimberley
Day 16: We start our Kimberley adventure with a visit to Lake Argyle (formerly known as the Ord River dam).
There is only one place to access the lake itself without booking a tour...so we unhitch and take a drive down to the water.
We also realise that we have changed time zones, and have lost an hour and a half, so instead of being 10.00, it is 8.30!
Fact: Lake Argyle has 21 times the volume of water of Sydney Harbour.
We have a swim, which is basically at the boat ramp, so are a little disappointed at the access to such a beautiful body of water. But it is refreshing and makes up for the terribly hot night we have spent last night.
We drive on to Kununurra, 30kms away. We are going to regroup and restock for a couple of days.
