We left Australia and headed for Africa.......the final leg of our trip!
We were met at the airport by Stuart, yet another Barclaycard bod, who kindly put us up for a few days in his very nice house in Pretoria. He did a very good job of looking after us - we spen most days lazing by the pool and evenings consuming fine food and wines.
Whilst we were there, Liz and I hired a driver for the day and visited the Aparteid Museum and Soweto. It was a very humbling experience - Pat (the driver) grew up during the uprising and was very kind in sharing his experiences with us.
Stuart also took us to Pillensberg NP which was fantastic. As far as game parks go, it's pretty tiny, which is great because you've got heaps more chances of spotting the wildlife. We did really well and got very close viewings of elephants, rhinos, giraffes, zebra and buffalo. Not bad for our first encounter with the animal kingdom of Africa.
