Well, Thailand has been interesting. We arrived in bangkok safe and sound after being upgraded to business class because we looked so smart and stylish. Ok, so it was because the flight was really full but the end product was the same. Business class rocks! We had a top dinner and the seats were amazing (scott stylee caroline and beth!!). I abused the experience as much as i could-had several bailey's, countless other drinks and used tons of the posh (ish) mosturiser in the loo. I even considered swiping the cute salt and pepper pots but estrained myself! Ahh, i belong in business class, darrrrlings! Aaaaaanyhooo, we got to bangkok and, despite being the first group there i succumbed to shopping aisle syndrome and got in the worst customs queue. No joke, i was the very last person to be chacked through! Our hotel in bangkok was nice and so cheap compared to england. That night we hit th khao san, a backpacker and cheapo bar and clothes road. The next day we were approached and accosted by so many 'friendly thai's' wanting to take us somewhere cheap or telling us attractions were closed. There is a con artist on every corner. We managed to avoid them and booked a seemingly cheap trip to the floating markets the next day. They were great but the guide took us to many pointless attractions including a gem stop so our short day turned into a long and boring one. What's worse, when i bought a lonely planet (heidi had one but left it at home) we discovered we could have got to the markets ourselves for about a 10th of what we paid!! Scammed! The next day we saw sevela beautiful tmples and nearly melted in the heat. We took a hair raising but fun ride in a tuk tuk and packed up to leave for the islands. We got a sleeper train to Ko Samui yesterday and it was a real experience. Out own little bunk, curtain and interesting depositis on the loo seat! We finally got to Ko samui this moring and have explored the beach at the end of our cheap but lovely resort. Hoping to find the beach in this pic in the next couple of days. Hope you are all well. Jane xx ps i don't know why i titled this entry krabi as we are clearly in ko samui.
