Difficult getting Steve & Yvonne out of bed even to walk around the base of Uluru. The walk was excellent. What I didn't expect were the hidden treasures revealed as you go - caves, rock markings, rock pools - assisted by the interpretive signs along the way. We finished the 10.6km walk by 11am and it was getting hot. Steve muttered something to the effect that maybe it was a good idea to get there early but I could be mistaken!
Checked out the Cultural Centre before returning to camp. By mid-afternoon the clouds had gathered and it began to rain and has continued to rain. Please note in the somewhat average pic of the rock, the unusual presence of a rainbow. Now that is special!
