Drove 500km today. Wasn't the plan but stopping during the heat of the day is not ideal so we kept driving and arrived at Yulara - and saved a day!

Yulara is a resort with restaurants, fast food, arts & crafts, medical facilities, police station and a campground where we're staying. It services visitors to Uluru (Ayers Rock) & Kata Tjuta (Olgas).

Tomorrow we are walking around the base of the rock, some 9km. No plan to climb it & although it is permitted the aboriginal people ask that you don't as it is considered a sacred site. We will not climb out of respect & not because we're old & feeble!

Expect to stay here 4 nights now which will be a chance to recharge our batteries.
