Hello
We arrived in Cairns and headed straight to Cape Tribulation. This is where the rainforest meets the Great Barrier Reef. It is the oldest rainforest in the world!!! We visited Mossmon Gauge on the way whilst learning about alll the different plantation and wildlife in the rainforest. We cruised down the Daintree river and spotted a crocodile with her nest and a python. We stayed in PK's Jungle resort and when we arrived there the heavens opened and it didnt stop, so what else was there to do but have a social afternoon drink. We met up with Matt and Rich from down the coast. Faye slipped on the very slippery steps and has now got a very nasty bruise on her bottom! The following day we followed a guided trek around the Dubuji Walkway after seeing Myall Beach, whilst avoiding all things poisonous.
We returned to Cairns and booked ourselves on a snorkelling trip to the Great Barrier Reef. What a way to finish our trip in Austrailia. This was one of the best trips we have been on. We saw coral, reef sharks, turtles and numerous fish including the jelly variety. We had to wear stinger suits but still panicked when we saw them.
We also met up with the Yorkshire girls and other people we met on the Whitsunday. We had a fantastic leaving do and partied in P J Obriens and the Woodshed! We said goodbye to Tommy and the girls which was quite emotional before heading off to New zealand.
We have really enjoyed our time in Oz despite being sunburnt and being bitten by every mozzy, jellyfish and bed bug! We have got use to the goon, and love the VB. We will definately miss the pies (especially the 23 hour pie shop in Byron, Quality!) Most of all we will miss the people we've met and cant wait to meet up with them when we get home.
Lots of Love Faye and Jess (from Down Under for the Last time!)x
