Hi folks
Well we arrived in KL on Wednesday night - we were both totally shattered as you can imagine after our flight to Dubai and then onto KL. Jumped in taxi from airport to Vicki and Shannon's apartment (around1hour). It is so hot (Henry thinks it's lovely! lol) but people that know me will know what I am like. Meet Vicki at her apartment - it is soooooo nice - huge pool (have a look at photos), she also has this cute little baby bump so good to see her.
We settle in and then go out for dinner. We head into Bangsar which is a bustling trendy area with lots of restaurants and bars. Vicki recommends a Thai restaurant called 'Planter Jim's' - VERY GOOD!
Around 3am this morning Henry wakes me up to a MASSIVE storm. We are like little kids sitting on the bed watching out the window lol. Every time there is thunder the whole apartment shakes, I've never seen rain likes this or lightening. It then gets annoying after an hour and can't get back to sleep. Chill out by the pool I think tomorrow.
Thursday 3rd March - Chilled out day by pool reading books about our next destination. Heading off to indonesia next week sometime. Vicki is taking us to a place in the city for dinner to try the famous 'Chicken Fish'. As you can imagine Henry is very excited
We walk from Changkat Bakit Bingtang and go to Jalan Alor for food. The picture you see is the 'chicken fish' (real name Trigger Fish) it is called 'chicken fish' because it tastes like chicken. It is delicious! We try its cheek also and henry eats it's eye YUK! Totally shattered so away to bed now as got to pack for Langkawi in the morning.

Annette Sounds like you having a great time , enjoy see you wen you come to oz!!!!!
Deirdre you are right about the tropical storm - the most spectacular we saw was in KL when staying at the Hotel Istana. Also some good ones in Penang where we could see them building up over the Andaman Sea You MUST try Beef Rendang when in Malaysia. It is a Malaysian dish, best served with rice on a banana leaf.
