You can't get lost if you don't care where you are going
My journey has taken me to Chiang Mai in northern Thailand where I have spent the last 5 days in complete relaxation mode, as with other places I have visited I just turned up and didn't read too much about it as I find the more you read and plan things the more confusing it gets.
This is a charming city and bigger than I expected population 3 million, yet it has a relaxed and not a frantic city pace of life to it. Not really done much here other than admire some of the local art work and managed to pick up a couple of paintings.
The last 5 months have been truly wonderful and I feel now I have seen enough mountains, rivers, caves, long bus journeys, trekking adventures and various other activities that I will be taking it easy for the last few weeks of my voyage.
I have just arrived in Bangkok where I will be spending a few days before a couple of weeks beach relaxation in the andaman islands before I head back to blighty.
So my journal entries will be a little sporadic over the next few weeks as I feel written out and think I deserve a break after the last few months hard work
