Hey Everyone!
I know it's been a REALLY long time since I've updated the blog. I will try and go back and update all of the missing days. Many things have been happening here as you can imagine.
First of all, I've met TONS of great people! Lisa, Mark, and TJ are from Pittsburgh, PA. Dan is from Jersey. Daly is from Alabama. Erin Pelton is from Boston, MA- she's a HUGE Red Sox fan and it pains her to see me wearing my Yankees sweatshirt and hat. She called home and they told her she couldn't be friends with me and I told her my family would probably say the same thing. HAHA! :D She is a really great person though... if you look past the Red Sox thing. Erin Memmott is from Maryland. Kevin is from Tipperary and Rob is from Cork I believe. Blue is from Cork as well. And Lucy is from Wales. There's such a mixture of people here. Most of the people I've met are from the states, but I'm working on meeting people from Ireland! :) We've been hanging out alot and doing alot of traveling.
So now on to the traveling bit. We took a trip to Galway and another to Cork. This weekend we are traveling to Belfast and Derry which are both in Northern Ireland. Galway was amazing! We saw the Cliffs of Moher and it was one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen! We also saw The Burren. In Cork we went to Blarney Castle where I kissed the Blarney Stone. We also went to the Jameson's Factory which was a good time. ;) I'm excited about Belfast and Derry. I'll be sure to post pictures and I'll really try to keep up on the blogs, but you've seen how that's going so far.
Next weekend I'm taking a trip to Scotland! Halloween night we will be going on a Terror Tour which is apparently the scariest tour in the world. Can't wait! :D The 13-16 of November I'll be going to London. After things are up in the air. My roommates from Saint Rose will be here the 21- 29 of November so I'll be doing some traveling with them. I know we are going to Dublin when they get here. Since I have Wednesdays off from classes I'm going to try and do some day trips to different places.
And then of course there are classes... I do have them and do go to them. The way they do classes here is much different from back home. Most classes have lecture once a week and then a tutorial. I really like the set up they have over here! :) I'm taking American Literature to 1890, Irish Folklore, Linguistics, and Contemporary Women's Writing. All of my professors are great and the classes are really interesting. I have classes Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays so I have alot of time to travel.
I've done some other cool things since I've been here. The Rugby game was really interesting. I have no idea what any of the rules are but it was definitely entertaining to watch. It's like American football and soccer mixed. The sport makes American football players look like a bunch of sissy's though because though don't wear any protective gear and they are just beat up the entire game! I had an immigration meeting which was interesting. We broke all of the machines in the place: the fingerprinting scanner, the card maker, everything! They were really nice though.
There's not much left to say other than I will try to go back and update the blog up until this point. I'm planning a trip to Germany so I'm hoping that happens soon. Aunt Diane: I've tried a Crunchie bar and there not too bad, but they're certainly not my favorite. Maybe I'll bring one home for you! :)
Love you guys! And sorry this took so long! :D
