Hello Everyone
Well, this is my last blog from the land of Oz. It's Wednesday, and on Saturday i will be sitting on a plane leaving for Thailand to see Snins and Ben! I can't wait, but i'm pretty gutted to be leaving Australia, i must admit!
So since the last time we spoke Noddy and I have been wine tasting in the Hunter Valley, watched Rugby at the Telstra, made a 13hour journey on a Greyhound bus to Melbourne form Sydney, and brushed shoulders with the stars from neighbours - we have even been to Ramsay Street!! How good is that???
So, i'll start with the Hunter Valley. Now i have no idea about wine, i mean i've spent the last 8 weeks drinking Goon - $10 cheap boxed wine that has 0% grapes!! - so as long as i can drink it it's fine by me. Noddy on the other hand loves his wine, and was eager for me to learn a bit about it too. So off we go on a wine tasting trip in the Hunter Valley. It was great fun. Went to 4 different vineyards, and YES, i did actually mange to taste a difference in the wine! I won't bore you with my new found knowledge, but i now know what i like and what i don't like, so no doubt Dad will be chuffed as it means we can try even more wines at home!! Ha Ha!
Having had a good nights kip, we headed back to Sydney on Saturday. Chilled out during the day, and made our way over to the Telstra for about 6.30. Shez had made his way down to Sydney wiht his girlfriend, so i'd arranged to meet him after the game. And what a game. Having had about 5 pints each before getting to our seat, we were eager to start the banter. And when the Ozzies went 17-0 down in the first 15mins, well it was made for us! And the best thing was is that whatever they said we just came back with "World Champions, World Champions, World Champions" - i even pointed out to at least 50 home fans that this was the ground that England won the World Cup on, and how honoured i was to be in the presence of such a glorious and cherished stadium for the English!!!
After escaping a lynching we made our way over to the Rocks in the city and met up with Shez. it was great to see him again, even if only for a few hours, so we had some beers and shots to celebrate a bit. Got in about 2 ready for our long journey on the Greyhound coach!
So not much to tell you about Sunday - up at 7.30am, on the bus at 9am, arrive in Melbourne at 10.15pm! 13 hours travelling - GREAT!
Monday was spent at the Pixar exhibition in Melbourne. It was brilliant to see how characters such as The Incredibles and Nemo were created, and there was adults in there too so we didn't feel weird for being in there!!!
Monday night was spent at the Neighbours night. We met Max, Dillon, Libby and Doctor Karl from the show. Had loads of fun, got very beered up and partied till 2am. Karls band played for about an hour, and he absolutely loved it. He was milking his success for everything he could, which was very funny. See for yourself from the photos.
Tuesday we spent recovering, and manged to hit the MCG. The tour wasn't as good as the Telstra, but it's an amzing stadium nevertheless. Just hit the cinema on Tuesday night to chill out a bit as it was an early strat for the Neighbours tour.
So today we visited Ramsay Street, met Toady and Janelle (the mum form the Timmons family) and saw some of the locations that are filmed on! Was pretty good, full of die hard fans so me and Noddy got a little bit lost when people started talking about characters, but it was great fun.
So tomorrow Nod heads off on the bus back to Sydney to catch his flight, and i leave on Saturday. Gutted really! But i know Thailand will be great, and it has to be warmer than here...IT'S FREEZING!!
So next time we talk i'll be in Asia, how cool is that.
Love to all
