FARFRUMWURKEN
Wednesday is usually a very busy day of the week here in Ajijic (Ahhh-hee-HEEK). Deborah had been feeling a little under the weather so we decided to take her to see Dr. Roderigez at the clinic in town. For the $200Peso's we spent 30 minutes in his office for him to determine the diagnosis.
After that we hopped across the street to Guadalajara Farmacia to pick up her drugs then all was well. We're having a dinner party here at Casa Forster on Friday so we had to head to the Tenguis to pick up whatever we needed to feed the eight of us.
Tonight is Happy Hour Wednesday so apparently we've got 23 people again for dinner. The great thing is that I finally get to go back to TANGO - what I consider to be the best restaurant in Ajijic - hopefully the FLAP steak from Argentina is still on the menu.
Yup - had the Flap steak last night and it's truly a great tasting piece of meat. I sat next to a new couple (d*** and Kathleen) last night at dinner. They just arrived in town on Friday and she appears to be a self-confessed "princess" - they're here for 2-months but when asked how it was going she said "I wanna go home now" - I guess it takes a certain type of individual - though I must admit it took Deb and I a good three or four days to feel comfortable in Ajijic. During dinner the skies opened up to the point that there was a small leak that started in the thatched roof that landed directly on the middle of Deb's head.
When Steve went to get the truck the street out front was like a mini river. All the water flows quickly from the mountains behind Ajijic and heads downhill to Lake Chapala. It's common for you to have to take off your shoes to navigate the flow. A short visit with S&C before heading home just to beat the next thunderbanger.
Again, to all of you who read these things - thanks for taking the time and we'll see ya'll soon.
