Costa Rica is a great country. Tourists are their greatest source of income here. Over 2,000,000 tourists visit Costa Rica a year and spend over two (2) BILLION dollars. The tourist trade is still ahead of coffee and pineapples that they export, but they're still not ahead of the dollars generated from high-tech – one example, Intel employs over 2,500 people at just one of their plants here in C.R.
The Costa Rican government is on the leading edge in terms of many things here, things that include:
- 25% of the entire country is environmentally PROTECTED, more than any other country in the world;
· There is a 96.3% literacy rate here in C.R. – One of the highest in the world.
· Approximately 90% of all Costa Rican energy comes from renewable resources such as wind, solar and hydro.
· Costa Rica means "rich coast"
· Cosado is the national dish when it comes to meals.
· They have a Democratic government set up in Costa Rica.
· There are 850 species of birds found here in the luscious, green country.

Aaron Cool! I just watched the Survivorman episode where he trekked through Costa Rica for nearly 7 days. Beautiful land, but I don't recommend sleeping in the Jungle.
