Have just spent six days with Rita and Norm at Venus Bay outside Melbourne. We travelled to Leongartha from Southern Cross Bus/train station by BUS - quite a change from our usual transportation in this part of the world by air. Met at Leongartha by Rita and Norm who housed, fed and entertained us for the next six days.
We were taken to explore lots of the local area including Wilson's Promontory, a vast area of natural wilderness, which is where we saw a Wombat, Emus and Echidna. Whiskey and Squeeky Bays were absolutely gorgeous with white sand and huge rock formations littering all the bays.
Meeniyan Golf Club was the venue for a couple of golf games by Frank,Norm and Rita while Maureen observed (and took photographs). Venus Bay is a sprawling mix of holidayand residential homes with five beautiful beaches leading from the main road.
We are now in Melnbourne prior to departing tonight for home. Temperature here is 30C..........we guess we'll notice the difference when we get home.
By the time we arrive home we will have travelled 27,597 miles by air.!!!!!!
Land mileage to be calculated later.
