So I figured we missed breakfast again.. but it seems the organizers, having done the blues cruises 26 times before, negotiated with the ship to have breakfast available until 2pm! Yay! We then wandered to the art talk 30,000 years of art in 30 minutes.. had some champagne, and walked to the customer relations desk and asked to speak with the cruise director - who was on our trip to China last year! Due to the blues cruise charter, he had very little to do compared to his normal duties, so we had a chance to catch up a bit, and make a plan to get together for dinner one night. Back in the cabin, too tired to head to more music (missing a pro am jam and wainwright in another venue) a knock on the door brought us a bottle of champagne. Joey enjoyed it with a dollop of CNN or football while I headed out to the balcony and read, accompanied by strains of Dixieland style blues wafting through the air. Joey fell asleep- and I took photos of the sunset. We checked out the buffer this evening and found a salad and grilled chicken and lamb .. but no gluten free chocolate chip cookies! I requested them for tomorrow... we'll see.. We then strolled to the fifth floor where we started chatting with the art staff - and our friend Rich walked by - and stopped to chat for a while. We then headed to the theater where Johnny Rawls was the next to play. He's been nominated numerous times for best blues artist and he's definitely old school blues, including the sexism.. but he is quite the performer. Raj Mahal and the phantom blues band - apparently the original band- back together again.
