Hey all,
So, I will upload piuctures as soon as the webpage is no longer under work. So hopefully tomorrow. You can check my facebook for the pictures though. They are up. Just find my profile by typing in my name, first and last.
We are having an amazing time. A little tired but making it through.
So Yesterday we landed here in london around noon. We made it through customs and through the underground train station where we went to meet out couch surfing host. He was a little late, so Ryan and I were getting real nervous on whether he was gonna show up or not. But he made it. His house is in Balham, London. It is really cute. We have out own room with a double bed. He is real nice, Ken, is a political consultant so full of lots of good knowledge.
After we got home yesterday, we got set and went out. We first went to the Tower of London. We were not able to go inside, but it was still amazing. So big, and old. After that we went for a walk across the London Bridge. Which is under a little construction, but still an Amazing site. It is so big, in height, but it is a short walk to get across. We ate at a little place called Minorities. I was ok, we got Scampi with chips and peas, and a beef roll wrapped in yorkshire pudding....mmmmmm....you would think. But it was ok, for London, hehe. The scampi wasn't shrimp though. It was more of a fried fish in little bite size pieces. The Beef roll, was very dry, but the yorkshire pudding was great. Who can resist that right? We got a beer that tasted like a bubbly chardonnay. I think it was called Spearhead. It was ok, but to sweet for a beer. We went back home and passed out!!!
Today was amazing, a lot of good sights. We took the train to Westminster area, and were not allowed in the gate from Balham because our tickets were not for Zone 3... whose first stop is Blaham. So we were a little stuck, than a worker let us through anyways. They are actually quite nice here! Except for one guy who ran into Ryan and was like, "Get out' ta my way..." Ryan was like..."Um, im getting on." it wasn't bad just funny. But anyways, we first went to Buckingham palace. Oh, is this a great sight or what. It is crazy how big and protected it is. Alot of guards with guns. The gold trim on everything was gorgeous. We were lucky enough to see some of the guards on the horses go by and praise the queen with music. It was awesome! We walked through the green park near by and headed for Big Bens Parliament. This too was amazing. So big and ancient, it was awesome though. We went through a park after than and had a little bite to eat. We walked by the West Mintster Abbey, Eye of London farriss wheel, the White hall, Piccadilly and St. Pauls. After that we took the train over to the Museum of London. Wow is there alot of history here, the great fire of London in 1666 was crazy, it ruined everything pretty much. I think it was all started in a bakery. After that we stopped of in Knotting Hill, its not like the movie, haha. It is busier than I thought, and just different, not as cute as it looked in the movie. But maybe I was in the wrong part. We then came home, took and nap, woke up and realized we had to go get our Eurostar tickets from the train station. So we raced over there to find out it closed and we can get them in the morning. Ugh, STA travel lady in USA said we had to come the night before... Oh well. So on our way home we stopped in the grocery store called Sainsbury's and grabbed dinner.
We are off to paris tomorrow at 530am. So we will keep you posted, and I will try to get the pictures up soon.
Miss you all and talk to you soon.
