Weather still fine and sunny so off to Versailles today. It took us an hour to go 10 kilometres! Unfortunately, there was some big political thing on and the palace was closed! Just our luck. Never mind, had a good look from the outside, avoiding all of the hundreds of police and gendarmarie swarming everywhere.Got to get inside the Versaille Cathedral before it closed at noon though. Decided to drive into Paris and catch a few of the sights........that was fun!...

Decided to come up to Paris today as there's virtually no taffic on the motorways. Trucks are not allowed to operate on Sundays, but we saw quite a few all the same. Reasonably uneventful trip except for a nasty accident just a few hundred meters in front of us. Thank goodness for the GPS...made finding the hotel pretty easy, although there were a couple of u-turns required. Went out to the Buffalo Grill for dinner, then straight to bed.

A restless night with one ear open expecting the sound of crashing chandelier....but it was still hanging. A late start today. John stayed at home while we went north towards Poitiers. Stopped for a break at St Savin. Very pretty views of Abbey by the river. Went to local corner-store for a fresh loaf of pain, jambon, frommage and petite tomates, which we consumed down by the river. Headed through more fields of wheat, corn and sunflowers. Sally whizzed-up fab bacon and french toast for breakfast then off to Le Blanc. Had a good look round town especially along the river front. Stopped for a nice cafe au lait at cafe Europa. Moved further into the Brenne National Park and stopped at Rosnay where the information centre is located. Park is made up of hundreds of small lakes and ponds. On the road early to miss the trucks, and off to Limoges. Pretty drive but it's a pretty average city. Some interesting architecture though like the railway station. Got a pretty little piece of porcelain as a souvenir. Heading back we spot a McDonalds so we stopped to use their free WiFi so we can update he site...very handy having that around as there's nothing close to Lignac and we'd have to wait until Paris otherwise.
