We had another early morning today! Before breakfast Tori and I went to the flea market down the street. There were fewer shops today but we still got some cool jewelry! We met the boys at breakfast after a little and got to pick out our croissants this time! I got one filled with Bavarian cream, which was super delicious and then we all ordered an omelet too. After breakfast we met everyone at the bus stop and planned our stops for the day. We decided to see the Spanish steps, the Pantheon and of course make another stop at the Trevi Fountain! It was even hotter today than yesterday so we decided to get off at the Vatican stop first to get some water and cool off. We shopped a little at the stores there then made our way back to the bus. We didn't really know where to go once we got dropped at the Spanish stairs stop so we kind of wandered for a bit and before we knew it we were on top of them! It was a crazy cool view and walking down them was another gorgeous sight of a large fountain surrounded by cute shops. I love all the streets in Europe, especially Italy, because the roads are all cobble stone and you can walk anywhere. From the Spanish steps it's just a short walk to the Trevi fountain but we didn't exactly know what direction we were going so got a little lost. It was fine though because we ended up in what seemed like a very local/non-touristy area and found a really cute hole in the wall restaurant to eat at. Everyone got really good pasta and then we realized we had some time to kill before meeting with the other group at 4 at the fountain. So Tori and I decided to do some more shopping of course! Once it was meeting time and we all were gathered back at the fountain we took a short little walk to the Pantheon. I love how ancient and historic everything in Rome is! It was another great scene. From there Tori and I split from the group to go to a couple more stores. On our way back to the bus stop we stumbled upon Cristianos which we had read about on the plane ride over and has the best gelato in Europe!! So of course it was calling our name. And you know its legit when you go in because the gelato is all neutral and pastel colors which means it's authentic and has no artificial flavors. We got 3 cups to split, banana, caramael macchiato, and white peach, and it was amazingggg! Then it was back to the hostile to get ready for the night. We met everyone at the Yellow Bar again and planned to walk to the Trevi fountain once it was dark to see it all lit up! Tori and I had a super strong canoli craving before we left so we ran all around near the yellow bar to find some. Apparently canoli doesn't exactly only mean canoli in Italy so shouting it through the streets wasn't the best idea haha but oh well. We soon all went on the walk towards the fountain and then stumbled upon a store still open with huge canolis! YES! So we all got some and then soon reached the fountain. It was so pretty all lit up at night so we took pictures and a few of us went closer to see the water. I was taking pictures with my underwater camera which was really cool because you could see all the wishes at the bottom! That's when things went a little south hah. I stood up from sitting on the fountain and my satchel slid to the side and of course not my wallet or underwater camera falls out but my phone. It was like an optical illusion too because I thought I could quickly grab it but turns out it had slid a lot further than I thought. Thankfully Sam scuba dived in for it and saved it! The police started blowing whistles at him since he was like half submerged in water but whatever I got my phone and now I will always have some of the Trevi fountain with me so it's all good! After that debacle everyone felt sorry for me so started buying me canolis. Perfect. Once Tori, Sam, Jack and I got back to the hostel a little later we all were super hyper still and started doing flips on the bed and abs and other crazy things. So it was pretty much the best night in Rome even if my phone swam the Trevi.
