Hey hey. Got back from the beach about an hour ago. It was a lovely day for the most part. Hil and I packed up our cooler and headed for the docks bright and early today. Before 9 we were on our way to the island we picked out (apparently good snorkling) with the plan of getting picked up again at 5:30. We were admiring the beautiful water and some semi-distant islands when all of a sudden our boat slowed. Both Hil and I were like, ok are we stopping here? There was coral formations in the water and, when I craned around and looked, a tiny patch of sand emerging from the water. Yup we sure were stopping. Hil and I got out of the boat onto our tiny, sandy island and contemplated a day of full sun. We asked the boat guy to get us at 4 instead and he kinda laughed and said ok. Hilary was worried because she got a bit burnt in spots yesterday and was planning on spending most of the day in the shade.
We decided to make the best of things (I figured we could always hide under our sarongs if necessary) and do some snorkling. One problem. The masks we got were too wide for our faces. They instantly filled with water unless you physically pressed them in at the sides, which I was too lazy to do but Hilary attempted. I spent the rest of the day sunning myself and slathering on sunscreen and playing crib (I love that board thingy you made Michal). People showed up on the island as the day went on and Hilary bought some shade (some guy came with umbrellas for rent). All in all a nice day but now I am very tired from all the sun.
