We arrived in Kathmandu last Friday. It is less crowded than India and feels calmer. We have been relaxing, doing laundry and generally mooching around. We have been travelling with an organised tour since the 30th Jan. This has meant some very early mornings and long days of driving so we have not had much time to make a blog entry. So we will try to up load some photos and write about what we have been doing, but it will not be complete until we are in Kathmandu after the 14th Feb. We have really enjoyed our time in Delhi. Despite most locals telling us that we are mad to spend two weeks here its great just wandering around, and there is plenty to see. The atmosphere has been generally friendly, and not felt threatening at all. We have used the new metro extensively, it is very cheap, clean and reliable, only opened in 2002 and is still being extended. Unfortunately the locals are not very good at letting passengers off before they get on, ...

Arrived very early morning of Sat 17th Jan. Skulked around in the airport for a couple of hours as it is cheaper to get a taxi to the city centre after 5:00am. So it cost us 250 rupees instead of 310 (there are currently 70 rupees to 1 pound). So we saved less than a pound, oh well every little helps! We have cleared out our house ready to rent it out, so far we have had one viewing with no success, fingers crossed. We are now living with Abby's Mum, half in her house and half in her new Bungalow (next door), hopefully she will be fully moved in before we go. We spent a very nice week in a cottage near Cromer for Christmas with Matthew and his fiancee's family. It still feels like we have lots to do before we go....................
