Erica's travels through Eastern Europe and Russia
Cork, Ireland - with 13+ hours of sun-light a day, how can you go wrong? Last night the sun set around 10pm, and boy was I surprised! I've had a ball just getting lost since I've been here. The population is about 75,000 is my guess, so it's pretty small for me. There are rolling hills that surround the city, so you can see the beige colored stucco houses and inns strenching around the city, which makes the city feel a little bigger. I got my haircut in the new, sleek European cut (short on top), so it's pretty cute! I toured the city, saw the old Cork Women's Prison (big attraction), a beautiful and quaint park, and the numerous old gates and buildings within the city. Cork was also a series of islands first, so it has numerous bridges which connect the (used-to-be) islands (now landmasses - the wonders of human creations). Anyway, met some pretty interesting people since I've been here - the first guy I chatted with was from my very own Chicago! The chances! I'll post photos soon!
