We had a very pleasant journey on the sleeper bus, even though the driver thought he was from some action movie, heading straight for buses and swerving at the last minute. There were several times when my body left the bed and flew through the air. They also love to use their horns in Vietnam. I would like to push over every bike that honks its horn without good reason. Maybe one day I will return and do just that. We weren't really sure what our plan was, whether to stay in Hue or not, as we'd heard mixed reports. We met some guys on the bus who were missing it out and decided to stick with them as time was limited. We had four hours in Hue and I reckon we saw everything there was to see. We met a Vietnamese lady who showed us lots of pictures of flowers and her daughter? Maybe? We couldn't understand a word she was saying! We experienced our first proper sun. And rain. The streets flooded within minutes and the coach was driving in what seemed like a river. Very dramatic! After what seemed like 24hours of travelling on bumpy buses we arrived in Hoi an. Hoi an is perfect. It's got beautiful little streets of colonial French houses, set along a river where all the restaurants light up with lanterns at night time. We had a hotel with a pool and a double bed each for $6 a night. Luxury! We got some dinner by the river....
got to go, bus here!
