So after first nights sleep, i actually managed to sleep really well! I've realised that it's been really good being in a dorm of 10 and with people that get up early because it gets me up early in the morning around 8ish and has helped a lot with getting over the jetlag! On the thursday I had a walk around down and went to Paddys Market whcih is a big market full of aussie souvenirs and clothes and fun stuff and upstairs there are facotry outlets with an abercrombie and hollister outlet store! i've never been able to afford abercrombie but it was soooo cheap i had to get me a hoodie! hahahaha and a skirt and shorts... money well spent! I then walked up Darling Harbour which was really nice and modern. WakeUp!Sydney (the hostel i'm staying at) has a good bar in the basement me and the roomies went down for some get to know each other drinks which was really nice!
Day 3 of Sydney I couldn't wait any longer to go to Bondi, and luckily enough for me, annina is also a big bondi rescue fan and couldnt wait to go down!! yay! Never been so excited!!! hahahaha and it was a picture perfect day, really good weather and the beach wasnt too crowded! We stayed down in the southern corner which is where, according to a lifeguard, the worst rip was, but we were paddling around and it really wasnt that bad. Having now been to Manly beach and bronte and tamarama, those rips were much stronger! But as me and annina were having a paddle the LGs (Lifeguards) came zooming down on their vehicle shortly followed by the camera crew and two LGs went off into the waves in front of us to rescue 2 people! seems much more exciting on the TV to be honest! Might possibly be in the background of their filming! I got a pic with two lifeguards but i didnt recognise them from the tv show! the blonde one i was talking to was really nice, but i forgot to ask his name!
On saturday following the recommendation of wayne (the english guy in my room) i took a very long walk down oxford street, which is their gay and lesbian clubbing area and shopping street. I then walked through the residential areas towards Kings Cross area. I love the houses! even tho theyr really run down i think they hav a lot of character and people leave their front doors open to air out, its got a really nice atmosphere. Following on with my walk i went through hyde park to the macquerie point for a picture with teh sydney opera house and harbour bridge in the background which was nice! although i saw a MASSIVE spider which was disgusting with black and yellow striped legs. ew. I also walked round Circular Quays which is where you get all the ferrys to go to north sydney and other areas, and then around the rocks which is where the first housesflats were built apparently, it was all very nice around there! and i had the yummiest lamb and rosemary sausage in a bun ... hmmmmm makes me hungry thinking about it! So after walking for about 4 hours i made it back to the hostel and my feet hurt sooooo bad! not just from the walking but they've been incredibly burnt from the sun on bondi! my feet have gone like purple where burnt, they look diseased i've never seen sunburn do that! oh dearrrrrr! its weds now and they still look horrible!
im bored of writing now, im goin to bondi for one last time even tho i think it might be raining - NOOOOO :( oh well! xxxxxx
