Emily's Trip
ok... so CT done and dusted - phew, that was a mile and a half for my fingers lol. back to normal stellenbosch life!
caroline, one of the girls on the placement, left on thursday which was really gutting cos she was probably the one that i got on best with in the group, the one i was most confident and comfortable with, and the one i could go out and have a wicked time with and laugh with etc etc but we had a really good night on wednesday to say bye - had a meal and then went to all our regular clubs having a right laugh so at least we went out on a high if you know what i mean...
anyhow: i was at cotlands today and i think dineo (or lizanne her assistant) mustve actually contacted them - gasp i know - cos they are not asking us to do sooo much cleaning, altho dont get your hopes up too much, we still have some. but we do get to play and be with the kids a lot more which is what we came here for and what i enjoy.
was quite eventful today (in a mild kinda way)... kaylene - the new girl who is sooo beautiful, is turning one tomorra (HAPPY BDAY lol) so we baked a little cake for the kids and nadine who's nearly two and my little angel stood up by herself for the 1st time!!! (well apparently she did on friday but i didnt see that one so this was kinda special for me). the grin on her face as she did it, for about 10 seconds before she went kerplop, was so sweet... and she also managed to feed herself the last bit of her dinner today again with the most massive grin on her face and her dinner AROUND her grin mostly lol. oh and btw i think i have got her addicted to the popping thing i do with my mouth, she's constantly doing her little version (again so adorable) at me and people and making herself giggle and chuckling when i do it back etc etc so i'm going to have to apologise to the staff for that one lol...
talking of the staff - most of them a such dudes and kacoe would say! (apart from bridget and anne who make us clean - grrr). they are all the really loud but utterly sweet outgoing motherly black african ladies... their just really lovely and so confident and great with the kids - its much nicer now as they are getting to know us and vice versa!
oh and another thing - i'll be one step ahead of the other students on my course... i am now VERY used to being puked on! nice huh! today this baby Inan did a massive burp in gems arms and she said can you take him cos she had to sort out another kid and i was like sure he's got rid of his wind situation now.. but oooooooooooooooh now! after a bit of me holding him he did the biggest puke i have ever seen a baby do (seriously) aaaaaall down my sleeve - he managed to get not one drop on my apron or himself, just my sleeve! so that was marvelous lol...
well thats about all to tell for today - your gonna have to get used to the smaller journal entries again for the time being i'm afraid!
will talk to you all soon
hope you staying well
lots of love
emily
