Hey! We arrived in Rockhampton at 6.45am and were picked up by Shane from Myella Farm Stay. We proceeded to have in my opinion the funnest 3 days of our trip. So many firsts. First we had brekfast (real milk and toast cooked on a fire) and then, the first first of the day Steve got on a horse!! He was a natural and was trotting almost straight away (he won't show his enthusiasm but he loved it and is goin to take lessons when he gets back to England (joke!)!) I loved it too! We then had lunch and learnt to crack a whip and lasoo! We then had our first motor bike lesson (don't worry Mums we are still alive)! We first went around the training track and then on a 7km ride. After falling asleep in a hammock we rode the bikes to sunset point and (you guessed it) watched the sun set! We had a gorgeou beef steak dinner (naturally on a beef farm) and then went to bed at 8pm! We were knackered! The next day we woke up at 6.30am (no rest on a farm), had breakfast and then milked the cows! We then hepled get the horses in to their pens and fed them and saddled them up! Steve rode Doodle again and I was upgraded from Chester to Star Dust (I later found out he had thrown 2 people off and only stopped chasin cows 2 months ago but due to my excellent riding he was fine! lol!) We did an 11km ride which took nearly 3 hours (Steve changed Doodle's name to Dawdle!)! We had lunch and then put a canoe in the yute and went to Lake Croc to do some fishing! We took George the bird (like the 1 in Neighbours) with us but we didn't catch anything! When we got back we helped to get the milking cows and calves in from the fields using the whips. Dave, one of the guides tried to ride the cow but it threw him off and hurt his back! When we got back to the farm I sat on Norman the bullock! We then had another yummy home cooked dinner and went to bed! Our last day we got up to watch the sun rise at 6am and then went out on the motorbikes to round up the horses. We fed them, saddled them up and then went on another long ride, Steve changed to ride Chester! We did lots of trotting and circles and things which Steve was really good at! We also saw a black headed python! When we got back we went for a ride on the yute to get one of the horses in from the holiday paddock! After lunch we went on a bike ride and then watched the new people have their bike lesson! I then fell asleep in the hammock and Steve played with a kangaroo! Unfortunately we had to leave at 4.30 and drive the 1 and a half hours to Rockhampton. We stayed the night in the YHA and then got the bus to Airlie Beach in the morning! Our cabin in Rockhampton was used in the Sydney Olympics in the media village! Speak soon! Ems and Steve xxxx
