This morning we stopped for more morning pastries - at the same fabulous place. How could I not? We then headed to a museum of hospital history. They had so much scary looking equipment and demonstrative artwork, including one that showed all the muscles of the back with the skin hanging off! They also had documents that dated back to the 1500's and they had a document where Marie Curie was ordering radium.
We then went to the crypt at Notre Dame, which basically told the history of the whole island using the building foundations as a guide. They say there was Roman Baths there and all.
Next stop Arc de Triomphe and more stairs - starting to hate them! The views from there over Paris are still the best though. And nothing beats the birds eye view for watching the trffic around the d'etoile (roundabout), its got nutty road rules.
On the way over to the Lourve we stopped at a post office where I ask Parlez-vous anglais? To which he replies sometimes.......but not today. Bad luck, I have no idea how to say stamps in French.
We spent 3 hours at The Lourve trying to see has many of the classics as possible. Tiring but amazing. Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo, French crown jewels, Napoleon the 3rds apartments, giant Ramses the 2nd statue, and so much more.
Stopped at a great bistro for dinner and i had crepes. It was the cutest little local place, we had fun over coming the language barrier.
We are feeling tired and staying in tonight, we have already brought so champagne though.
