We headed straight out to the station stopping along the way for breakfast pastries. So good. We jumped on the Metro and headed out to Sainte Chapelle a beautiful church made mostly of stained glass that is on Ile de la cite. Unfortunately there was renovation work under way on the alter end. It was still beautiful but we missed out on spectacular.
We then headed to the Conciergerie, which along with Sainte Chapelle belong to the complx that make up the Palais de Justice. The conciergerie is an antechamber that was used as a prision and housed Marie Antoinette before she was beheaded at the Place de la Concorde. It was different.
We then went over to Notre Dame - stunning! We climbed to the 2nd highest level, the very top was closed. Great views of gargoyles and Paris. We also took photos of the Hunchbacks bell.
We had a great lunch at a place that's name translated to Bistro of the Tarts. Most of the menu was tartes sweet and savoury and so good.
Next up was the Pantheon. This is an amazing piece of architecture started being built in 1756 and was completed in 1791. Alot of famous French people are buried in the crypt here including Marie Curie and Victor Hugo.
We also went to the Musee l'cinemateque, which was actually quite interesting. It showed how filming techniques have improved along with a history of French cinema.
It was then back to the Hotel before heading out to the Moulin Rougue. Which was another very good night out, all there staff like to have a joke. We had some very good champagne. The show had the most amazing juggling guy, and a strongman whos act i cant really describe but it was amazing.
Big Day Out!
