Alright folks,
I have been quite busy since the New Year both with work and socially. When I got back to work I was approached by Cirque du Soleil and offered four free tickets for a couple of passes to the gym. The weird thing is that I had just been talking about wanting to see it but the $150 ticket price was a bit much. Myself and Lu went with Helen and Greg and had a great night. The stuff the performers do is amazing. I never knew the human body was capable of doing such things. The show is called Varekai. The story is somewhat abstract but you can understand it and make some of your own impressions of what is meant.
When I was in the Bay of Islands I met a cool couple from Aussie and invited them to mine for a BBQ on their last night in NZ. Within a couple of days the numbers coming had increased dramatically and it turned into a party rather than a BBQ. I got to teach a couple more people how to play Yaniv, although some are now calling it Emmett as I have changed some of the rules to make it more risky and fun. Helen got drunk and gave away Greg’s Bop It game – it was his Christmas present from her no less!
Luckily I had bought a s*** load of meat and everyone else brought food as well so it was quite a veritable feast. As I am spending all of my weekends diving either in the pool or in the open water and two evenings a week doing class room stuff I am not getting a load of time to meet the fairer sex.
Doing the diving gives plenty of opportunity for nocturnal activity, but as a constant professional I rise above such temptation. Our dive shop has a rule, “No fornication before certification”, however after certification it is far game! I am not looing for another ex-girlfriend so just having fun suits me fine at the moment. There is one girl in the gym that I want t ask out but have convinced myself that I have no time for a relationship.
At the moment I have barely enough time to buy food and keep myself in clean clothes. As I am almost through my DM course I am fastly approaching my first full day off in three months. I am really looking forward to a lie in. My first weekend off will probably be sent doing domestic stuff. All I have to do is a couple of swims, a physics exam, and a couple of underwater skills. Than it is relaxing time.
I have all of these things that I want to do and just don’t have enough time or money to do them. I want to tour around NZ and see all the cool s*** on offer, but need to work to save money to fly back to Europe this June for Nick and Lucia’s wedding, but also want to do my PADI instructor course. I am tight on both time and money. The worst thing is that by being so busy I am not getting time to organise any of them.
So I am finally going to plan my trip to Europe this week. I want to spend about a month touring Eastern Europe and maybe Russia while I am over there. I will than come back to NZ and tour around here before going to Aussie. You know that sounds like a plan and I have just thought of it as I am typing.
The instructor course only takes 8 days to do and than two exams of exams but costs in excess of $3,000! I am looking forward to seeing Nick and Lucia again and maybe getting acquainted with some of the bridesmaids?? If anyone knows any cool stuff to see in Eastern Europe than please let me know.
The rest of Feb is looking like Jan, diving on the weekends and class room stuff in the evenings. I am going to a Beer Fest sometime this month and ones of my mates is having a 30th birthday party. More opportunities for meeting the fairer sex.
Until next time, Em
