Hey Hey Hey!!
i think i had just arrived in Krabi last time i posted and i've been pretty busy since! I loved it there. my hostel was amazing and krabi generally had a good vibe. it had the perfect balance of being tourist friendly but also full of local people and local things to do. I didn't stay long in Krabi so packed loads in to 4 nights there.
I went over to the james Bond Island where some of the Man With the Golden Gun was filmed with a girl i met in my dorm. It didn't excite me too much but it was pretty. We then did some kayaking round and through some limestone caves . Luckily I had a man doing it for me. When i found out I wouldn't be doing it myself I wa a little disappointed... but then when i got there and gave it a go i was quite relieved as i wasn't much good. Then we just went in and did some other random tourist stuff.
The next day i went to railey beach which i had heard was amazing. However, my experience was not so good. I had just found my perfect spot after trekking about half an hour to find the beach but then realised i was out of suncream. so trekked 30 mins back to the nearest shop and by the time i had come back, the tide had come in and my t shirt, shorts, towel and book were in a sandy and soaking wet heap. Not cool.. So i threw a strop and got the boat back to the hostel where i had a massage to cheer myself up.
Despite losing ben and becky only a couple of days before.... they found me again! So i met with them for dinner, found some canadians along the way and celebrated one of the boys birthdays by teaching him ring of fire. ben also taught us a game called Par 100. i wasn't very good as it resulted in me drinking a combination of gin and chilli sauce... again... not cool. Especially as i had a boat trip at 8 o clock the next morning. But it was a great night.
so the next morning i went with the girl from my dorm, lia, over to phi Phi island, stopping at Maya bay on the way which is where they filmed The Beach. We also stopped for two snorkelling sessions along the way which was incredible as the water was so clear. Despite my massive fear of jellyfish, i flapped around a bit but then kept my cool when i saw one. it was only little.... Again, i met with Ben and Becky for dinner for my last night in Krabi.
Today i left Krabi and I'm now in Khoa Lak up the west coast of Thailand. I've come here to do my diving qualifiation on a live-aboard boat over the next few days in the similan Island National Park which has been recommended to me by a friend of my brothers. It's a little more untouched than where most travellers do their qualifiation in Ko Tao so I'm soo excited. The theory side starts tomorrow so I'm going to plonk myself on the beach with my book (as long as the weather clears up because right now there's a massive thunder storm).
Anyway that's it from me!!!
Much love xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
