Hi Dad! Darwin was pretty hot. We landed at around 5 in the morning and it was already boiling and SO humid. Even worse than Bali. We decided it would be a good idea to walk to the Museum and Art Gallery but nearly collapsed from heat exhaustion en route! When we arrived there we just sat for hours in the cafe drinking and eating before we could even be bothered to stand up again! You are right though, its a great museum and I loved the Aboriginal paintings. We had some torrential thunder storms, one every day we were in Darwin. Its like God got a giant bowl of water and tipped it upside down, and the lightening strikes are right there beside you. Stunning, and very dramatic. We didn't make it out to Kakadu but we had an amazing day in Litchfield swimming in waterfalls. It was paradise. I will email you soon, and will Skype you when I get to Byron. Love you and missing you!!! p.s I'm in Manly - I love it here! Loads of love, Em xxxx

Christmas is coming and it's definitely getting colder here.
I expect NT was pretty hot though (and wet?). Did you manage to get out to Kakadu?
Keep safe

You've got photos of some beautiful birds on you website, Blondie, the cute little grey one is a red footed falcon, commonly found wintering in Kenya. This one's a boy, and he'll soon be winging his way to eastern europe to find a littel girlfriend. Aaaah. Keep on twichin'. Bill.
