Being in Darwin is like being in a steam oven with your head wrapped up in clingfilm so you can't breathe. Its so hot. Poor pale little me. Its not at all how I'd expected it. I knew about Cyclone Tracey but didn't realise it had wiped out the entire city, so every building here is post 1974. Huge hotels, apartment blocks, out of town garages. I swear there are more places to buy cars here than there are people. I pitured it a bit late 1800s, wooden buildings, western style porches and all that. The wierd thing is that there really is harly anyone here all. Its so quiet. But its really friendly, people just come up to you randomly and start chatting to you. If they did that in London you'd tell them to bog off. We've had some intense rain storms and lightening shows. If you get caught out in it your drenched in about half a second. We spent Sunday in Litchfield National Park learnign about the wetlands, wildlife, wallaby spotting and swimming in waterfalls which was pure paradise.
