Today another 2.5 hour drive to Pokhara, not as comfy but just as interesting!
Key highlights include dude with a cactus on the back of his bike and the "urban cows" who roam in the middle of the road in the towns. Pokhara is a typical backpacker haven with a deluge of different nationalities and skin plumpness (the more leathery the skin the longer time spent travelling) Had the best Paneer tikka (yes, will need 7 days trekking to burn off the billion calories consumed) then a boat trip with a great view of the mountains - another great example of cultural differences - 3 of us on the boat with only 2 life jackets, were told if we wanted a third we'd have to pay, needless to say we plumped for not wearing any....and survived!! Evening consisted of shopping for thermals for camping (in Nepal I am XL??!!) then dinner, which was the worlds biggest Enchillados for £2.50 whilst sat opposite the local bar which had "Lady Tuesday" night - Strangely enough, quite a few men were entering the bar......Random variety of music in our restaurant from Eminem to Vanessa Carlton, 1000 miles....
