Last night I convinced myself that our campsite was straight from Friday 13th (each member of the group meets a horrific, usually bloody death in succession of the ugliest to the fittest) therefore everytime I went to the toilet (which was quite a lot considering the amount of water I drank) I thought an axe wielding murderer was going to get me - yes I am 37......Woke up to the most amazing view of the snow capped Himalayas and had tea and washing water delivered to the tent door!! Breakfast was porridge, toast, eggs and more tea, sat to a backdrop of Annapurna IV, Annapurna II and Madi Khola. The walk today was mainly through forests, unfortunately I decided to wear a top the same pink as the Rhododendrons that grow in the trees, so was the main attraction for any bug within a 10 mile radius!!! Once again lots of interesting sights such as the waterfalls, magnolias and a random man up a tree, cutting down branches! Trek was 5.33 miles and we climbed 2865ft in 6 hours. When we arrived at our campsite we were greeted by more amazing views plus the randomly named, Rambo bar! Dinner started with popcorn (brilliant) followed by soup, curry and melon. Bed for 8pm (yes I know, lightweight) dressed in thermals, two fleeces, woolly hat, socks and gloves. One word to describe the night, bloody freezing (ok that's two, but it deserves the extra bloody). To prove it was cold there was a ground frost when we got up, however, quickly forgotten with the sunset which was stunning, and gave way to another breathtaking view (and another 50 pics by Emma "amazing travel photographer"!) Started the day with Fatboy Slim, Right here, Right now in my head which was quite apt.....
