So off we went to go to Lake Bled. We've named our Sat Nav Harriet. Now Harriet is good sometimes but on the odd occasion she gets confused. I was driving today and all was going well and we turned off the motorway to head to Bled. Instantly the roads were not great. Honeydew managed to climb the hills and take the corner and just fit on the road in some places. She then tells us to take a right...my god. The road was so step and bad it was like someones gravel driveway! I only just manged to get up in 1st gear riding the clutch the whole time! We thought maybe she got confused. We were rewarded in the end by a stunning view at the bottom and the best place for a campsite to be (we found out when we left the next day, and turned her off that she took a "shortcut" and there was a normalish road). We ran into some NZ van tours, well we avoided them but saw all the boys getting drunk...lovely. As it was suppose to be raining the next day we hired a boat to row across the island with the castle in the middle.... After an awkward start we were on our way. I found out Im a speed rower. We caught up to a boat of boys that started before us and overtook them. They tried to race us but nah uh.... I was too fast - not that I am competitive or anything :). The island was pretty but the water was better.. really deep and beautiful. Kathleen rowed for a bit on the way back and then my power arms took over..hehe. It killed me tho and i was exhausted afterwards. We got back and swam off the jetty. I tried to get out of the water but my arms were so dead i had to drag myself up and roll on my belly like a beached whale... great. We contemplated staying another day but thought if its crap weather there is not point....... so off we went the next morning.
