We have another guide for the next few days, Yang from Laos...he has very cool hair. We made a stop during our journey to pick up some ant eggs for his friend, kids were selling them at the side of the road. Then he pointed out roadside bbq's that sell dog if any of us would like to try it & be sick. I think I've been adventurous enough with the crickets, no ants or dog for me.
We're staying in some little bungalows on stilts, I have the biggest bed I've ever seen and a nice little deck to sit on....but lots of creepy crawlies so I won't be too sad to leave.
It's very quiet here but all about tourists, lots of shops/stalls/massages & bars. Dinner was pretty awful, I am not too impressed with Laos food so far. It cheered me up a bit when Tiernan put his shoe on with a massive cockroach inside.
I went for a little run and did some exercises thismorning while the others got ready for kayaking. I went with Amy to explore, market was pretty disappointing and expensive....well it isn't that expensive compared to home but I want to pay less than a £ for everything. In the afternoon we met the rest of the guys and went to the blue lagoon, a local beauty spot of beautiful clear blue water for swimming. Beautiful my eye-what a s*** hole! I've never seen so much litter in my life, the place stinks.
It has been an important day though - I have seen my first ladyboy, very pretty. Also managed to buy a vest for just over a quid and a giant beer for just under a quid...my dinner of Cornish pasty, chips & gravy was also very exciting after all this rubbish food.
On the move again tomorrow - just 7 hours on the bus yippee!
