On Saturday we went on the Neighbours tour. This was so awesome! We were picked up from the hostel and first taken to the neighbours souvenier (sorry for spelling) shop where i bought a book and Kat bought a T Shirt and we met Libby Kennedy!!!!! Seriously check out the photos we got a couple of autographs too and she came on the bus and talked to us all for a bit, she's so nice (and really skinny too which i didn't expect). On the bus on the way there we had a Neighbours music dvd on with oldies like 'Too many broken hearts', 'Especially for you' and 'Hey Mona' ha ha was so funny. Then we pulled up at Erinsborough High!!!!!!! It didn't really look that familar but then you mainly just see inside the building which is obviously a set but still funny. We drove past the studios too (woo ha ha) and then onto Pin Oak Court aka Ramsey Street! Oh it was amazing. It was so small though and looked so different to how it does on the TV. People actually live in the houses so there's a security guard outside 24 hours a day so you cant go onto the properties. It was well worth it though loved it!
That night we went out around Melbourne. I cant remember much of it and to be honest the bits I can remember I'd rather just forget about but I do know we went to a pub called Chloes then a club called Bamba (or something) then the rest is a bit hazy but as you can probably guess I was very drunk and not in a good shape so I don't really want to talk about it ha ha. Kat got me home though and I'm officially never drinking again!
Monday was Neighbours night (anyone picking up on the Neighbours theme here in Melbourne?). It was at a pub in St Kildas called The elephant and Wheelbarrow and was just a night filled with English backpackers (20 million people watch Neighbours in Britain compared to only 1.2 in Australia... I know my Neighbours facts now). Paul Robinson, Toadfish and Janelle Timmons were there and they answered questions and stuff and came round to talk with you and have pictures taken etc. There were loads of other things going on too like quizes and a dance off etc for really good prizes. It was a good laugh.
Yesterday we had a mooch around the city again did a bit of shopping etc but it was so hot. Apparently it got to 43 degrees and bush fires in the area cut off the power supply to a lot of the city. We went to the cinema at night and even that cut out for a little while. the weather in Melbourne is so weird, one day it'll be 40 degrees and it'll be unbearable but then the next day it'll be about 25 with a cold sea breeze and you'll need to put a cardie on. Very strange.
Tomorrow we're going to Tasmania to stay with some of Kat's family.
