My first postcard from Australia!  Settled into Perth quite nicely.  My youth hostel is great with a pool, bar and spacious dorms and only a 10 minute walk to the city centre.  The weather is slightly disappointing as it is overcast and very windy but I hear it is quite a different story as you head eastwards.  So far I have wondered around the city centre, taking full advantage of the free transport system that they have here and visited Kings Park which is a massive park with botanical and water gardens and various bush walks where you can see a variety of exotically coloured birds and animals unique to Western Australia.  The views of Perth from the park were spectacular and I promise to post some photo's as soon as I learn how to do it!  More sightseeing in Perth tomorrow and then on Wednesday I start my outback tour...!
