G'day Guys,
HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY!!
We thought we'd update you on our last days in Adelaide.
Yesterday, after a short walk through the city - emergency clothes shopping - seriously!! Emma had to get a polo shirt to protect her from the sun, but hey, at $5 you can't moan!! We then made our way down to the river for another stonkingly hot day! We walked along the riverside taking photos, and then made our way to the shade on the other side of the river for some lunch on the river bank.
We headed to light square (across the road from our hostel), to take some more snaps. Light Square is a memorial for Colenel William Light, by whom the site of Adelaide was fixed on December 29 1836. He died 3 years later aged just 53 and was buried at Light Square.
Today so far we have wandered around the city admiring all the Aussies in their costumes for Australia Day. Before settling ourselves by the riverside for another picnic, overlooking a concert in the park.
We leave here very early tomorrow morning, and shall arrive in Melbourne on Monday night, after seeing what will hopefully be some spectacular views of the Great Ocean Road.
Love to you all.
