I am sooo tired! This week I've been on duty meaning being up for 6am and hope around 5:30-6pm, on top of that I've had to teach full days.
Last term I was sharing P2 class with Madam Juliet, meaning I would teach a few lessons a day. This week I've been in the classroom 8am until 3-4pm. It's been such hard work, with the language barrier, stubborness and keeping up the enthusiasm. Thankfully Vics been taking some Maths lessons so I can have a break and Jane has managed to take maybe 2 lessons, only because she was finding it difficult to get time away from her P5 class.
Oh yeah, I have 10 pupils now ;)
Thursday was my best day, I walked out of my final English lesson feeling great! We did a lesson on, if there is more than one item then you add an S on the end - Cat, Cats :) After that I just decided to sit the children and interact. I carved their names into their pencils, which they were very happy about and then just sat there playing. They love my hair "Madam your hair is great. Madam it is so nice" I just felt fantastic and walked away with the biggest smile I've had at school yet :)
I've started a Reward Chart, so whoever has the most ticks at the end of the week wins a prize. This week it was Anita, who won a pencil and lolly :)
It's been a good challenge though and I've been able to make a better connection with the pupils but if I had to do that all year then I really think I would of struggled. Luckily some new teachers are starting on Monday.
Emily has a parcite (not sure how you spell it) Like a worm in her stomach,s o she's currently staying in Kampala, seeing Dr Stockley. He's given her tablets but she can't keep them down and you can tell she's loosing weight. Hopefully she'll be feeling better soon!
Sophie and Heather are staying at ours tonight and then we're off to Sanyu tomorrow.
I'm really looking foward to going back. It's been ages and I've really been missing the children but lets hope that quite a few of them have been adopted!
Then after Sanyu we're heading to Sophies new project. When her prpject partner left, her neighbours were really horrible to her and she couldn't stay any longer.
She was teaching at a Secondary School but is now going to a Primary School. I hope it goes well for her!
That's all for now. Not alot has happened this week.
All my love x x x
