I've arrived in Townsville today and will be here over new years, not sure what i will do on new years eve yet though! Anyway Airlie was good and the sailing over christmas was great - although as it was so calm there wasn't a great deal of actual sailing - well at a great speed anyway. But it was a really nice way to spend christmas and completely different from if i had been at home - not that it really felt like christmas. Now i'm in Townsville though which is on the coast of the great barrier reef so i will probably go snorkelling some more - i did lots on the sailing trip on the whitsundays (will add my underwater photos soon - they've actually come out ok!) and maybe even go for a dive - if not here then definately further up the coast. I'm going to explore townsville further tomorrow - so far i've just been to the supermarket and located a hairdressers that doesn't look completely dodgy - so i think i will treat myself to a new years haircut!
