wow its a long time since ive written and weve done so much since then! right last time wed just staretd the south island with a new bus!

after arriving on the iskland we were picked up by our new driver cheese and headed down to nelson, on the way we stopped for lunch at a little cafe for a spot of wine tasting and lunch! we arrived in nelson quite late so did our food shopping and used the net and stuff! whcih was strangley in macdonalds!

next day off again, we couldnt stay any longer in wellington or nelson as the bus was full whcih sucked but i hear theres not a great deal to do there anyway. so yeah we left for westport in the morning! we stopped on the way at a lake to take some photos, the scenery on the south island is just amasing, real;ly beautifull. then went on a walk through the forest and by the lake. stayed for lunch and ate in a little hut by the lake meant for campers so was quite well equiped. the walk took about an hour n a half n was really nice. reminded me of home and walks at grannies in the autumn.

checked into the hostel in westport which was well nice! 8 of us had our own little unit! had a log fire, kitchen, ensuite, tv n me n alex got normal single beds not bunk beds! yay, you dont know how much of a luxury that is! spent the night watching films and chattin to the new guys on the bus, rich, carl, aaron, sam, james, chloe and amy.

only stayde the ngith there as thers nothing to do, just an over night as the bus journeys are all quite long. the next morning it was chucking it down, lovley so we hurried out to the bus in the rain. stopped at the beach to see a seal colony, but couldnt see a great deal as they were so far away. after that it had stoped raining so then had to do a walk, but it was a very quick one down to a beach. then lunch! after that we stopped in a town to buy costumes for our poo party that night at the poo pub. the theme was super heros! its called the poo pub i believ becuase its on lake mehinapuah and the end of the word sounds like poo...

got to the poo pub and met the landlord lez, the oldest publican in new zealnd a n amsing 83 and looking very good for his age. especially as he still runs the hostel. bit crazy tho. we had an amsing dinner with everyone, steak, vension tew, potato and cheese melt, pasta bake, loads of veg, corn on the cob and stuff mmmmmmmmm. after dinner started gettin ready for the party. i went as flame girl, wore a tshirt with burns all over it(burnt my fingers making it) a cape with a big F on, tights and yellow nickers and my hair in a big flame! kady went as kite girl and alex glitter girl. everyone dressed up so was really fun had some well random outifts too. had gimp boy, condom kid, wonky potter, tim tam girl, apple girl, donkey man and loads of others cant really remember them all but was fun. danced loads and there was a juke box so got our choice of music for once!

next morning left for franz jozef. atopped on the way at a bushmans museum. pete greated us a proper crazy old man. watched a film about deer hunting whcih was well random and had a really funny sound track, was funny because it was supposed to be really serious but was too old school for that! wandered round the museum abit and doc (ian) had to feed the pig which everyoen had told us was crazy pig and bit peopel and chased them but was infact really tame! but still was funny to see him so scred before it came out. it was well obedient too, even sat before ian gave him the food.

arrived in franz jozef and went ofr a quick 20min walk at the bottom of the glacier just to see it before the hike the next day. was very preety and incredibly cold there. that night just chilled out in the hot tub and went to the pub for a quiet one and pool.

the next day friday we headed down to the glacier hike shop to get kitted out. had to wear waterproofs, hats gloves, big boots and socks, clamps on the boots, bumbags and rucksacks! looked like proper walkers! drove to the foot of the glacier and then had to walk for about an hour n half to the very bottom and start of the ice. that was the hardest part as we had to clamber up the hillside as the valley was flooded. we then got split in2 4 groups we were put in 4 partailly as we were all quite unfit but coz i had an ankle and alex an knee injury too. really nice hike, quite challenging at times but so stunningkly beautifull i just forgot about that. i was amsed at how blue the ice was and how much of it there was. such a gorgeous day for it too, the sky was blue and it wasnt too windy so not that chilly. it was mostly just walking on top of the glacier but we did get to scranmble thorugh a tunnel army camo style! and ther were a fair few tight squeezes through some crevaces. we walked for about 7 n half hours. got back and raced into the hot tub. the old bus from the north island had arrived to so it was really nice to see them all again.

left for wanaka the next day. went on a walk down to another lake whcih was supposed to reflect mt cook perfectly but the was too mwindy and didnt! at lunch we stopped off at a beach and got attavcked by sand flies! hate the things. and had a stone skimming competition. the bus driver won. didnt really do anythin in wanaka, we did however go for a really nice meal for the girlies bdays to a place called relishes.

the food was so so good maybe one of the best meals ive ever had i think! had champagne and 3 courses really treated ourselves as we werent paying! thankyou kadys friends and parents! we joined the rest of the groups after in a bar for a few drinks. gto to talk properly to peopel on the bus that night too. spoke alot to alison, rich, carl, kerry, and others.

in the morning we went to puzzliong world whcihw as a laugh! i was rather hingover and did not enjoy the illusion room, felt rather ill. but the maze whcih i swear was impossible was fun, me n kady gave up and there was alo of cool puzzles to try. from ther we went to arrow toen just outside queenstown. nice town really old looking, where they started gold mining in that area. from ther went to the bunjy center and watched neil do the bunjy whcihw as cool n got loads of photos. hehe pretend its me!

arrived in queenstown and had a very emotional reunion with anna, so amsing to see her we cried our eyes out bless. got a few funny looks as i pushed my way of the bus shouting for people to get off the bus but after they knew why tehy werent so annoyed at me oops. after checking in anna showed us round the town. a few facts about queenstown now, theres a mountain range called the remarkables, 1 reason there called thsi could be because they are 1 of 2 alps ranges on the polar axis! she drove us to her apartment to pick up parcels from parnets yay. i chnaged clothes and then me n anna went to a bbq with her friends. nice night chatting to her n ben. n good food too. then anna drove me back into town to meet up with the guys from the hsotel for our last night as a bus. we stayed in the base bar for a while called altitude and then went up the road to the world bar. danced lots as usual and was a fun night.

monday we had a very lazy day doing washing and lazing about. walked to annas for dinner that night she made ac really nice past abke and i made some garlic bread! after dinner we walked back and tehn went oput to the same bars with the guys who had arrived that day, amnaged to stay out all night with no drinks whcihw as impressive but was very tired the next day. was a funny night tho as it was mexican night and all the guys and some girls had mustaches drawn on for a competition and it was kareoke night too. so had a good laugh. daleo won best tash and got a sky dive.

did nothing much again the next day btu see the town, that night anna came over and we cooked dinner and then went to patagonias for ice creams after. me n anna then went ofr a drink at her friends pub. i met the girls after and we just had a quiet one.

again next mornin got up alet, kady had her haircut so me n alex git her bday presents sorted and did diaries and stuff. rich had also given me his canyon swing coz he didnt get chance to do it (he won it at the poo party for best costume) so i walked up and booked that. we cooked dinner taht night bought snacks and watched movies at annas. watched billy madison seen it before but its quite funny. had an early ngiht in preperation for a big 1 on kadys bday.

got up early for kadys bday! opened prsents and had breakie. then she went off for a facial and massage so me alex went ofr a wlak to the btoanical gardens whcih were really beautifull! took lots of photos! kady came back and showered and then ben picked us up (his day off) and took us to glenorchy, really great drive gorgeous scenery, rated one of the top10 drives in the world i do belive! got out and took photos but was a miserable day so went for hot drinks and then alex drove us back! think she enjoyed that alot.

anna came over that night n we made ourselves pretty and went for dinner at solero vino. had a vfery nice meal and wine. and then went out to meet evryone, got rather drunk but had a fun ngiht. an early 1 tho. unfortunatley had a horrible incident that night whcih involved a boy form our room peeing on the floor andf then in my bed so i got up and moved rooms.

took alex the next mornin to her canyon swing as we had all decided to do it by this point! but couldnt do it together as we booked quite late. then me n kady did our posting home and stuff trhen went to our canyon swing! was really really good. enjoyed it alot! very scary. both did 2 jumps me backwards and then elvis cutaway, kady cutaway and elvis cutataway. was 1 of the hardest things ive evr done very psychologicaly wierd trying to make yourself jump off a cliff backwards but felt so asmaisng after id done it. a canyon swing is abit like a bunjy but the harness is round your waist yopu fall for 60m so about 3 secs and then swing in an arch down the canyon for 200m, that bit lasts ages as you swing back and forth for quite a while. the falling was terrifying but once i was swinging the adrenaline told me i enjoyed it and i did! was great! the guys rteally try to scare you too before you jump.

that night i went to the bnb again for dinner with bens family. really nice meal ben is quite the chef. slept at annas with her as ben styed with his parents that night. walked back in the morning to wave me off. found abottle of champagne on my bed from the boy who weed in my bed, nice apology. had a very tearfuol goodbye with anna. everyone was pretty upset as the buses were all breaking up so was sad to leave alot of good friens. but i was very emotional and sad saying goodby to span miss her alot already and cant wait to see her at xmas.
